Our review
Some ground rules.
These are set and enforced by the synthoverse.com moderators.
AI Content Celebration and Real Content Disclosure
This instance is designed for AI creators and enthusiasts. AI-generated content is encouraged and welcome without special labeling. However, if you are posting completely human-made, real, or non-AI content (such as traditional photography, hand-drawn art, acoustic music recordings, or real-world footage), please add #RealContent, #HumanMade, or #NonAI to your post. Mixed content (AI + human collaboration) does not require special labeling. Tool attribution is appreciated but not required.
Mandatory Content Warnings for Sensitive Material
Content warnings (CW) are required for all NSFW content, graphic violence, potentially disturbing material, political discussions, and anything that might be considered sensitive. NSFW AI-generated content is permitted but must be properly marked and must not depict illegal activities, non-consensual scenarios, or copyrighted characters without permission. When in doubt about whether something needs a content warning, err on the side of caution and use one.
Zero Tolerance for Illegal and Harmful Content
Absolutely prohibited: illegal content of any kind, malware/viruses, phishing attempts, scams, doxxing, non-consensual intimate imagery, content depicting minors in sexual contexts, copyright infringement, revenge porn, or content that promotes violence against individuals or groups. AI-generated content that violates these guidelines is equally prohibited. This includes AI recreations of real people without consent or AI-generated illegal material.
Maintain Creative and AI-Focused Community Standards
This instance centers around AI creativity, digital art, generative content, and related technologies. While occasional off-topic posts are fine, your primary content should relate to AI creation, digital creativity, creative processes, tool discussions, or community interaction. Excessive off-topic posting, political activism unrelated to AI/creativity, or content that doesn't serve the creative community may be limited. Share your creative journey, ask for feedback, and engage with fellow creators.
Balanced Approach to Commercial and Promotional Content
You may showcase and sell your own AI-created works, share your creative services, and discuss your creative business. However, direct promotion of AI tools, services, platforms, or third-party commercial services is restricted to admin-curated content only. Excessive self-promotion, affiliate marketing, cryptocurrency promotion, NFT shilling, or turning your account into a sales channel will result in limitations. Focus on community value first, commerce second. Use unlisted visibility for purely commercial posts.
Foster Respectful and Constructive Community Environment
Harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination based on identity, threats, stalking, or personal attacks are prohibited. Constructive criticism of creative work is encouraged, but personal attacks on creators are not. Respect people, be mindful of cultural differences, and remember that behind every account is a real person. Disagreements about AI ethics, creative approaches, or techniques should remain civil and focused on ideas, not personal character attacks.
Curated Bot Policy for Community Benefit
Bots and automated accounts are welcome but must be approved by administrators before activation. Acceptable bots include those that share creative inspiration, provide tutorials, curate AI-related news, or offer community tools. Prohibited: high-frequency posting bots (more than 6 posts per day), off-topic bots, engagement farming bots, or bots that primarily cross-post from other platforms. All bots must be clearly marked as automated accounts and should provide value to the creative community.
Selective Federation for Community Protection
We federate selectively to maintain our community's focus and protect our members from anti-AI harassment. We may limit or suspend federation with instances that systematically harass AI creators, promote AI-phobic content, or whose values fundamentally conflict with creative freedom. Users from external instances are welcome but must follow our community guidelines. Our community members should be respectful when interacting with users from instances with different AI policies.
Community-Driven Moderation and Reporting
Report content that violates these rules using the built-in reporting system. Provide context in your reports to help moderators understand the issue. False reporting or report abuse will result in warnings or limitations. Our moderation approach is permissive but protective - we intervene when necessary to maintain community safety and focus. Appeals can be made by contacting administrators directly. Moderator decisions prioritize community well-being and creative freedom.
Account Authenticity and Responsible Usage
Use your account responsibly and authentically. Impersonation of real people (unless clearly parody), creating multiple accounts to evade blocks or limitations, or using accounts primarily to evade rules on other instances is prohibited. If you're representing an organization, make that clear in your profile. Abandoned accounts may be removed after extended inactivity. If you need to take a break, consider deactivating rather than abandoning your account.
